I made this top sometime ago, in fact TWO YEARS ago and never wore it because I didn’t like the way it fit. I’d actually planned to give it to my sister when she came to visit but didn’t remember where I had put it. Lucky me. While going through one of my fabric bins looking for something else, I happened upon this and decided to try it again. SCORE!
I decided to go with more casual styling but wanted to show how with just the change of a shoe, the outfit can go from casual to dressy casual in a flash.
I got these jeans from Forever 21 and I love them. I’ve been trying to find new places to buy jeans and so far I’ve had good luck with these. Yes, I have on two watches because I was trying to decide which one and didn’t realize I had kept them both on until after we’d take all the pictures.
Pattern Description: MISSES’ TOPS: Close Fitting (doesn’t that just say it all).
Pattern Sizing: Y(XSmall-Small-Medium), ZZ(Large-XLarge-XXLarge)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Didn’t even use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is a super quick make. I actually cut it and sewed it before work one morning but of course didn’t get to wear it.
Fabric Used: A metallic knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I am quite busty so I made the XXL which is supposedly a size 24-26 AND added about an inch to the side seams.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Not.So.Much. Other people have had success with it and it is cute so give it a try.
Conclusion: This is a cute top that works up quickly BUT, it seems rather odd that a top of this style would be drafted as “close fitting”. Additionally, I don’t think it’s drafted true to size as it seems to run kind of small.
