OMG! This Kimono has been in the “making” for over a year. At times when I’m feeling inspired, I cut out multiple projects which is great, however, I also often change my mind or get otherwise distracted before I get to everything that I cut out add to that the yards of knit bias tape I had to make to finish the edges and you get why it took so long to finish.
Pattern Reivew:
Pattern Description: Misses’ kimono pattern features styles for every occasion. Pattern includes draped kimono in short, or long with contrast bands, straight floor length kimono, and short kimono with or without trim. Simplicity sewing pattern.
Pattern Sizing: A (XXS-XS-S-M-L-XL-XXL)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were easy and straight forward.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the length on this kimono even though at a lofty 5’4″ it’s a bit long for me, I love that I can tie up and that it’s long enough for taller sewists.
Fabric Used: I used a jersey camo knit I found at my local Wal-Mart.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No alterations were necessary although when I make it next, I might shorten it just an inch or two.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will definitely sew this again, in fact, I cut out a new one this weekend that I will be putting together this week.
Conclusion: I love this kimono it is definitely on trend, versatile, easy to wear and instantly elevates any outfit.
Love your newest make, you’re such a Fashionista! Great job!
